Bacterial vaginosis – Principles of Treatment

The most important aspect in the bacterial vaginosis treatment is the elimination of anaerobic flora by administration of both systemic antimicrobial agents and intravaginal use of antibiotics and antimicrobials.

as well as drugs that change pH of the
vaginal secretions, along with IMMUNOMODULATORY
and desensitizing agents.

Specifically, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends the use of only two groups of antimicrobial agents: Clindamycin & Metronidazol.
